Disconnector is a contact switching device designed for switching an electric circuit without current or with insignificant current, which has an insulating gap in the disconnected position to ensure safety.

The disconnector consists of movable and fixed contacts fixed on insulators.

The disconnector is equipped with a mechanical interlock preventing the earthing switches from being switched on when the disconnector is switched on and the disconnector from being switched on when the earthing switches are switched on.

AVM Ampere manufactures disconnectors for medium and high voltage types RDZ, RGP. Supporting metal structures have hot-dip galvanized coating, which provides high corrosion resistance.

All disconnectors manufactured by AVM Ampere have been tested for compliance with European standards IEC 62271-102 and IEC 62271-1, including short-circuit current resistance and ice breaking tests.
